We started Waterpod with the vision to allow anyone to experience the joy and calm of living on water, in comfort.
We wanted to create a high quality product that is affordable and accessible to everyone, whether as for just a short-break, or for full-time living.
Tom & Martin Founded Waterpod in 2022
Tom Luke and Martin Gonzalez-Sayans, both based in Reading, UK started Waterpod in 2022 with a vision to transform how people live and offer a new, affordable way for anyone to live on and enjoy the tranquillity of water living.
Their passion for creating luxurious living spaces and being in, on or near to water brought them together to form Waterpod.
Tom, Co-Director
Tom Luke is a entrepreneur and water enthusiast.
With a passion for building businesses which have a positive contribution to the environment and quality of life, Tom started Waterpod as he was frustrated that he could not buy a high quality, sustainable and affordable British built floating apartment from anywhere else.
Tom currently lives aboard his Waterpod 50, located in Reading, UK on the river Thames.
Outside of work, Tom enjoys surfing, sailing, scuba diving and paddle boarding.
Martin, Co-Director
Martin Gonzalez-Sayans is a master builder and has operated a successful bespoke, luxury house building company in Berkshire for over 15 years.
As a master builder, Martin has even featured as an expert presenter on TV’s Cowboy Builders alongside Melinda Messenger and Dan Lobb.
Martin and his team have built over 50 luxury houses across Berkshire, including numerous water-front properties and brings the same craftmanship and attention to detail to Waterpod’s floating apartments.
Our Expert Team
We have assembled a small, highly skilled team of master carpenters, fabricators, M&E specialists, structural and naval engineers, all based in the UK.
Our team hand-builds every Waterpod to order, to meet client requirements and specification in our factory in Berkshire.
We have partnered with leading experts in solar energy, heating and cooling, glazing, specialist building products and more to incorporate the very best, state of the art building products and practices into every Waterpod.
