Hand built by us in England
Unlike the growing number of UK companies re-selling houseboats that are designed and built in eastern Europe, Waterpods are designed and built in the England, by our highly skilled in-house build team. This means we have full control over the design, build and warranty process, and we pass on savings from avoiding no import duties and international transport costs while minimizing CO2 emissions from long-haul transport. You’re invited to come and see your houseboat during construction at our factory in Berkshire.
Buy direct from the builders
We don’t have glossy sales offices, slick salesmen or intermediaries taking a cut. You’ll be dealing with the designers and builders directly who have intimate and personal hands-on knowledge of all aspects of the design and build. We pass the savings to you - in the form of premium materials and high quality finishes - and surprisingly competitive pricing.
High insulation as standard
We don’t believe that comfort should be an optional extra. That's why our floating apartments are built with high levels of insulation as standard with an average 10cm high performance insulation across walls floor and roof, making them cool in summer and cosy in winter. In a Waterpod, you are cocooned in comfort, ensuring every day on the water is joyful, no matter the weather.
Truly sustainable
We want to achieve our mission of enabling anyone to experience life on water with the least environment impact possible - that’s why all our Waterpods are made entirely from sustainable materials. We incorporate timber from sustainably grown forests, recycled plastics and woods and fully recyclable aluminium and steel components (see our Specification page to learn more). We also encourage our clients to include our solar energy production and highly energy efficient Air Source Heat Pump options as part of their Waterpods to further reduce the environmental impact while keeping bills down. Finally, by building in the UK, we minimise our delivery distances and impact of carbon missions from transport.
